Once driven by the Legendary 'Grumpy' Jenkins, the Chevrolet Vega pro stock drag car was the first to achieve 'Grand Slam' status by winning all of NHRA's 8 national events in 1972. Jenkins went on to take home over 1.2 million dollars over the next 5 years in NHRA pro stock drag racing. All powered by Chevrolet small block v8 engines of just 331 cubic inches.
This is a tribute to the drag racing legend and the little subcompact car that won the hearts of many, the Chevrolet Vega, or if you're a hard core enthusiast the 'XP-887' as it was code named.
